The 12th Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples will take place from 15-19 July, 2019. Registration for the session is now open.

The 12th Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples will take place from 15-19 July, 2019 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The Expert Mechanism provides the Human Rights Council with expertise and advice on the rights of indigenous peoples, and assists Member States in promoting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of indigenous peoples in accordance with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The Expert Mechanism holds an annual session, in which representatives from states, indigenous peoples, indigenous peoples’ organisations, civil society, inter-governmental organisations and academia take part.
