2nd Congress of Nations and States Academic Conference
In connection with its upcoming 2nd academic conference to be held online on 28 and 29 September 2023, the Congress of Nations and States (CNS) has issued a call for papers. The mission of the CNS is to encourage creative change based on the values of equality and justice. Its 2nd academic conference will provide a forum to scholars whose voices are overlooked in traditional power structures working to address issues faced by indigenous populations and marginalized populations.
The CNS has identified the following key priority areas for its 2nd academic conference to be hosted in cooperation with the University of Northampton (UK):
- Mitigating the disproportionate impact of climate change and natural resources extractivism on Indigenous and Minority groups;
- Empowering indigenous and minority claims to land they inhabit, especially within state-centric international structures;
- Increasing political participation and governance power of Peoples and indigenous groups, nationally and internationally
- Ensuring indigenous and minority groups access to basic human rights, which are threatened by privatization and, at times, the UN sustainable development agenda.
The CNS invites scholars and academics whose research relate to these issues to submit an abstract of up to 250 words outlining the research they wish to present at the conference. The deadline to submit an abstract is 31 July 2023. More information about the conference and can be found at: https://www.congress.host/call-for-papers
